luke and danny: sure thing
Hey, the Incredible Apathy Girl is fighting it out with bbd's new keyboard. She has gone all hunt-and-peck because the thing is that impossible. The curve isn't right, all the pressure is on the wrong parts of my wrists, and it is way too easy to hit CAPS LOCK when trying for A. Be glad I am a perfectionist who corrects typos - other than that and this will be uneradalbe.

[My family has A History with RSI, typing breaks and wrists: it is not pretty. My Dad had to "retire" from mainframe programming because his fell to bits. He has no fine movement control and keeps trying to lift big objects he shouldn't because it makes him feel useful. Nobody clued in that working up to 80 hours a week (when I was smaller) frantically typing through the night so they could start shifting shares etc in the morning without any typing breaks might wreck your career, your health and your life. Cheerful, huh?]

[I'm getting back to where I was before the edit]

... this keyboard sucks muchly and made by microsoft and seems to be making my hands deader than Deadpool. Yes, Deadpool.

I got in the post today a nice little Deadpool trade that features another "7os Inventory Story" featuring the real Heroes for Hire:

"Luke Cage: A child of the streets...Daniel Rand: a son of the mystic city of K'un Lun... Wade Wilson: governemnt experiment gone wrong... together they are..."

Sorry. You had me on that one. Cue terrifying dialogue, Aunt May berating Deadpool and then beating him up, and more of the classic "we're not a team".

Oh and the Dojo kids from the current Iron Fist turn up and invite themselves. If you saw the issue with Danny's birthday where he "trash talks" seven-year-olds: the words "my parents signed the permission slip" will make you die laughing (okay, just me then?!)

In other news, mummyfrog tried to get an insurance quote for the holiday and got a quote which cost more than the holiday. Seriously.

My Dad had to take early retirement due to RSI/carpal tunnel too, though by then he was a project manager rather than a programmer. I wonder how many others from their generations got caught out by a lack of ergonomic knowledge as computers took over? That was probably 15 years ago and he can't use a computer for long at all still, despite various adaptations, and he had to give up on reading books because he can't hold them. Of course, now he has Parkinsons as well so generally is not doing well on movement control at all.

I've tried curved keyobards before, they are terrible.

    That is ridiculous!
  • wrist injuries suck! Please take care and get frequent breaks.
