hugh house

If there is one or more people on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

All of you. Pretty much. *hugs and sends donuts*
exc: oh rats!

Cat Free Zone

While the cats are away, the mice will be bored and jumpy.

The parents (bbd - big bad daddy - and mummyfrog) have gone on holiday to Turkey, leaving me to get on with the_dosk. I have had lectures on:
  • Not burning the house down
  • Being nice to my brother
  • Being nice to my brother
  • How mummy frog has stockpiled enough readymeals to feed the five thousand (because she's paranoid about a) starving offspring and b) my cooking)
  • Everything I already know

Surprisingly, the importance of washing was not a topic. Eating the huge pile of plums and apples from the garden was. (And dosk does not eat plums, isn't all that keen on the apples, and we should feed ellen the alien some). And the plum redistribution didn't quite work because I went over to give some to Social Butterfly, and Social's mum shlepped 2lbs of cooking apples on me. I ended up making turnovers. Which was a lesson in how not to make pastry. And it turns out that dosk doesn't like them either. So I have 11 left and one of me. Anyone fancy turnovers?

I think the problem was that once you got rid of the crap apples (they were windfalls), I ended up with 14oz of chopped skinned apples. So I made it up to 1lb by upping the dried fruit quotinent, only I used mixed... and the result tastes rather too like mincemeat for my little brother's tastes. Cause mixed dried fruit has peel and everything. I probably chopped tha apples too coarsely too, so when it came down to filling my 4in squares of pastry, there was more fruit than apple. *sigh*

I can't eat this much. oneoneone.
