Tell me again, why do I need one of these things?

hugh house
Not feeling too hot today.

Except in a sun-is-shining buzzy is wearing her lovely new dress and no bra kind of way. It is 70s and has big flowers on it. shadowkitty knows what my dress sense is like and is cowering in a bunker somewhere Luton-ish.

My boss isn't in this week, so I am officially not playing out with archaeologists this week, but am considering creeping in and finishing the database when he's not looking.

I got one of these in the post today: Stitchy Stitchy

Still working on my curent big stitching thing, though.

Also; saw some Ellis script for Astonishing (X-Men) which is just that good... I wants so damn much. Am now in a haze of comic book love. What is better than Beast singing and junior X-girls trying to pick a good name? Oh, and there's violence, so that might make things better or just more Ellis for words.
  • Sorry you're not feeling so well. *hugs* But hey new dress...and mmm comic book love...I have a vague memory of what that's like.
    • I am currently as flat as a pancake.

Comic book love is something I have been a litle short on lately, myself.
  • *hides*
  • *pets*

Ooooo. That is a beautiful pattern.

Do you watch cross_stitch? Someone just posted their finished project of the 9th doctor
    • I didn't even know there was a cross-stitch comm, so you can guess where I've spent my last half hour.

I just can't believe how detailed and huge the Doctor thing is. It makes my big project look a lot simpler.
      • SOme of those ladies do truly amazing work. And fast too.

Did you see the Napolean wip?
  • You really aught to take photos of these things...

Ellis' Astonishing is one part CSI: Marvel Mutants with a smidge of TORCHWOOD's "Nobody else knows what the Hell is going on, so they call us in..."

There's a beautiful exchange between Emma and Ororo (who's back) in the first issue that could be summarised as going something like this:

Emma: "I don't care if you ARE the queen of some dirty little country - I'm Alpha Bitch..."
Storm: "Just tell me what you need to have done, I'm tired of having to give all the directions all the time... Oh, and yes Hank, I've missed you too."

    Which I thought was fun.

It'll take it's good sweet time coming out, but people have come to expect that for quality - it's way less "I'm mean and I smoke ciggies and attempt to appear disaffected" faux-badass than most of Ellis' barking has been, lately, and that's good. Someone has t tell Warren that there's already a Brian Azarello (not that I particularly care for that guy, myself) and the one playing that role doesn't have to hide his accent like Wilma does.

So much love. ♥ You really know how to get my attention and that just sounds wonderful. And more Hank is always good, more Hank wih Ororo is just awesome.

I'll admit that I like Wilma's disenchanted cigarette smoking men when they are done well, but unlike chips, they do not go with everything.

PS. The Cake/Pie survey? Buzzy-made Victoria Sponge. I always thought a la mode meant with ice cream, clearly I need help. Home made apple pie rocks too. Just trying to keep away from things that would make me even rounder.

A La Mode means with ice cream - I just happen to like a chunky slice of tart cheese on the side.
