Tell me again, why do I need one of these things?

hugh house
Because some people do.

Uh, that sounds weird, but "mail me" sounds even weirder, though using a direct object in this context is probably a creeping Americism anyway.

Unless you are a 100% sure that it will come in the next five days, please hang onto it until 1st October, because I will be on vacation (in lovely Turkey, for two of your human weeks) and the post office will only hold parcels* for a week and then they return to sender, like Elvis but less shiny.

*And they probably use some weird Royal Mail definition of parcels that will include shrink-wrapped lemmings and dead puffins.
  • Which part of Turkey are you going to? I went to Marmaris last October and had much fun doing beachy things, spotting wild Green turtles (so very cool) and impulsively deciding to go to the Greek islands for the day (the catamaran to Rhodes only cost £25 including port taxes. Yay for cheap things!)
    • We're going to somewhere in the Bodrum area and hoping to hit Ephesus etc. My family are big on ruins. Parents went there a couple of years ago.
    • Aaaah, that's up the north end of the country. Ephesus looked cool, but we decided that the length of coach journey to get there was a whole bundle of do not want. Turkish ruins are kinda cool because you can actually get up close and look at them (or, in my case; under them, and spend a subsequent hour wandering around in the abandoned undercrofts and oubliettes of Rhodes castle, occasionally surfacing in strange little courtyards to the bemusement of lizards and locals alike).
    • Oh, ruins are great! The sound of 'Ephesus' carries so much history in it, I can nearly smell the ancient dust.
Now I get where your interests may come from ;)
      Wish you tons of fun!

  • Ah word to the wise - excellent.
