If the hugh-flu (last post) wasn't crazy enough, somebody on scans_daily has been posting Agents of Atlas(Marvel grew from a company called Atlas/Timely, Agents is a team book featuring a range of 40s/50s Atlas characters of great coolth to have an adventure in the main Marvel universe) and it is so good. Yummy. It has a bit of a Dr13 vibe, but seems even more fun. Also, the same nice person, crispengrey has been posting some of the source material. I have so much love for this! *squeeing* It's a heck of a lot of the stuff I love about comics, from 50s horror to those twist in the tale stories in Astonishing etc.
  • PHIL HALE - papajoe's kinda hero

I have NEXTWAVE to send to you as well - Jeff Parker, who writes AGENTS OF ATLAS is also the fellow responsible for all of the X-MEN: FIRST CLASS stuff. I am actually considering cosplaying as Phil Hale the Gorilla Man at a con someday. Jeff is very approachable - I think you would get much satisfaction should you visit his blog at http://www.parkerspace.com/ and tell him how wonderful he is.

Jeff just recently did an issue of GIANT SIZED X-MEN FIRST CLASS that featured lovely art by FOOP (FRiend of Ol' Pappy) Mike Cho:

Mike bought the reference for the flying saucer in this story from me at our shop.

Also - his associate on the new MYSTERIUS project is none other than FOOP and fellow Ottawan, TOM FOWLER. Tom's robust sense of humor makes mine seem like one that is very weak and snivelly, indeed.

Depending on a few factors, I want to get FOOM up and active again next year.

I just received your card - you were not drunk-dialing at all and it was very sweet indeed.

      *gleeeeeeeee*

It's just too shiny and brilliant for words. And that's without the aditional First Class shiny and goshk, I like that artwork Mr Cho.

*goes to parkerspace - he is so on your wavelength it makes me wonder whether the green goblin and mr sinister have returned to their evil clonin' ways*

Foomery, I really need to get the stuff I scanned up and shiny.

(that and I'm thinking Moonkids and Banana Bunch on the sixties annuals front)

p.s. What's a mysterius when it's at home? I've seen some art, but have no clue yet.

p.p.s. I have even gone to newsarama to read about mysterius, which is kind of scary. Newsarama, that is.

Newsarama terrifies me - talk about a group of guys who just don't get it.

I'm glad it's not just me. I stay away for a reason.

          *edges away from newsarama*
