Tell me again, why do I need one of these things?

hugh house
Computing for the Inept turned out to be even less interesting than usual with a grand total of no Inepts.

I did, however, finish "A Boy of Good Breeding" which was enjoyable although the end caused a bit of "wtf?". That and Hosea's perspective change never convinced me entirely.

On the weird supernatural front, I picked up "Hunter's Moon" by David Devereux. Certainly not of the supernatural romance genre. If you like darkfic, thriller scenarios and general dirty-dealing, you might like it. I am not kidding when I say "dark" either - the author warns not just "ALL THE MAGIC IN THIS BOOK IS FAKE - I MADE IT UP" but reminds you about "Safe, Sane and Consensual". I thought the magic warning was just slightly over the top until I googled the author. He runs a "paranormal protection & consulting agency" - I've heard of taking your work home with you, but that tops off my weird-o-meter. Biog, if you want to check I have not just been drinking the wrong kool-aid. He also has an lj* and a sequel out sometime early next year. I'm in half a mind to comment on the release post for HM and tell him that I liked it; this freaks me entirely.

It's not as if I am any weirder than a professional ghost hunter, right?

Bad idea, I keep my identities as seperate as I can, just not quite as thoroughly as I should.

Everyone promissed shiny disks: I've burnt them, I just need to get cracking with the address book and find some more envelopes.

Other than that, the past couple of days have been great sparky brane-light days. Feeling a bit interesting behind the eyes now, but not too bad. Of course, saying so is like challenging the brane to a neuron kicking contest**

*david_devereux, a highly imaginative psued, I'm sure you will agree.
**if you don't know, I get chronic headaches, that said, I feel a little better since I got off the gabapentin I've been on for almost as long as I have been messing around with due South. The new stuff seems to work at least some of the time.
  • oooh, i hope this is the beginning of a better brane-period all round?
