Frustration seethed like steam from Amy's ears as she sat waiting for the shuttle next to a breast-feeding Vardan and a Regreatable Anomaly. It wasn't that he was always LATE. He was (he claimed) a Lord of TIME (but she really needed to grill River on that some time he didn't need saving) and thus he was at its mercy... or it might be the other way round... or it was all some grandstanding posturing designed to distract, disarm, and destroy. He was never LATE because he is always on TIME. It was just never on any TIME but his own. He never conformed to anybody's sense or scale of time. Perhaps to him, meeting Cleopatra (not "Hello Sweetie") and attending the funeral of the Sun were mere moments apart. This is the sort of thought that disturbs Amy, a girl who had another universe in her bedroom, and then she wonders why nobody else has asked the bloody question before now. Maybe they didn't have any TIME as the Doctor's misadventures tended to impinge on every moment, every date, every small and private thing. He found his way into all of them, as all of them have their TIME. And, after all, he was Lord of TIME, right? All TIME wrapped up in a suspiciously human-looking shell. And one day, Amy will ask all her questions, the ones she scribbles in alien biro on anything and everything, she just needs the TIME, when for once things are not too LATE.
  • LOVE!
  • Regrettably, I still don't know Dr. Who, but your text is awesome!
    • No Who: I don't know where to start with that one, but glad the time-travelling weirdness works for you.

Amy is very outgoing and outspoken (and working as a kiss-a-gramme) as companions go - probably because of being ginger and scottish in a village somewhere in middle england (they have cricket and a cottage hospital) where everybody was terribly understanding about her frankly odd circumstances (parents dead and she lives on her own in a big house) and that imaginary friend of hers ("the raggedly Doctor")... (she was waiting for him in the garden when they found her asleep on her suitcase) who turned out to be not!imaginary but very very late (like 15 years or so -- a point of contention) and progressively weird ("fez hats are cool")

That really doesn't cover it at all and I need to get me an Amy icon.

Oh, I like. Nicely thought-provoking snippet.

    Ha! Awesome! :-)
