    You enter the office of Lieutenant Harding Walsh with some barely concealed excitement. You have been looking forward to returning the Precinct after spending the last ten days making arrangements for the visit of the Royal Canadian Society for the Conservation and Protection of Birds to Chicago where they attended the International Colloquium of Bird Preservation Trusts and Other Bodies Concerned with the Protection of Avian Habitats. The Canadian Consul had arranged a Reception to take place on the third night of the convocation. To say that the Canadian Consul had arranged the Reception is to say that you spent over a week negotiating catering and security arrangements and overseeing the installation of an exceedingly large ice sculpture of the endangered Canadian Piping Plover. The reception proceeded as planned until a representative of the German Lark Reintroduction Committee had imbibed a somewhat excessive amount of alcohol and...
