Hoydens, hoydens, hoydens! Roll up and see the mutant freaks in their stunningly natural habitat! Marvel as they bamf, claw and fly their way through any obstacle in their quest for a better world!
Sworn to save a world that hates and fears them, it's the X-men! (And the New Mutants! And Alpha Flight!)
Two stories from juleskick's But I Love You For Your Brain challenge:
Countdown and Bad Pennies
Both written for the prompt "X-Men: Rachel Summers/Madelyne Prior, time bomb" and as different as chould be
One ficlet written for rat_jam
Spin Kick (it's on my website too)
Wolverine and Rouge in Japan. Very old school.
In woeful need of a better title, here is my tale of vampirism and the single German trapeeze artist. Except, he probably isn't going to stay single all that long, since fate has drawn him back to the mansion, back to Logan, back to his truest friend. And can he save Kurt from the darkness in his soul?
This is an AU written by a continuity fiend and sometimes canon goddess.
Lying there in the dark, Logan’s mind went back to that day. The day Kurt Wagner died. Actually, “went back” was the wrong way to say it, because he’s never really left.
Sure, he was still Elf, but something had gone, been stolen in mildewed darkness. And there was the rub, he was still Kurt, sweet natured Kurt Wagner, with blood upon his fingers; no, forget the blood, the blood doesn’t matter.
Roses Mixed With Blood
We are her children, darkness's children, no, not children, slaves. Snatched away from the sun, and made prisoners in shadows. And prisoners in blood. Sweet blood, bright red and fresh from the lungs, or darker from some other region, and all speaking in tongues of life and power and rust. Yes, rust, drying and crumbling on my lips as I lick it away.
The Drowning Men
Kurt’s not sure that’s better anymore; he thought it was, but now... Maybe the blood’s been doing strange things to his brain. He’s not sure how his brain’s working at any rate, he pretty sure loss of circulation causes brain-damage.
Maybe that’s why he isn’t thinking so clearly now. Until he’d actually seen Logan, the plan had been simple. Find Logan, get Logan to chop his head off, be properly dead. No more strange appetites, no more fancying himself damned for all time; just sweet merciful oblivion.
Lust At Second Sight
Elizabeth Braddock, on the American leg of her world tour with her boyfriend Peter (at least he calls himself Peter now, they’ve all become angels, angels with dirty hands, dripping with the blood of sacrifices, dripping with her blood, holding up her eyes so that their dark cause of order can see, and she rejoices in it) is dreaming. Or can’t you tell?
It's more of a coda to The Drowning Men than a stand-alone episode.
This is the other Nightcrawler AU, and is basically where I would have gone with Church Of Humanity and Kurt's Origin story, erratically written and updated and probably doomed to stalk the night as a perpetual WIP. Rated "S" for short chapters and scariness. *grin*
Frankly, it needs a good kick. Kicking it would be simpler if I knew somebody besides me and Luba K Metyk of Pride And Wisdom liked it.
Basically, over-plotted yet perpetually-mutating occult-religious hybrid AU staring Priestly Nightcrawler, lots of ghosts from his past, the Church Of Humanity and okay, everyone eventually.

Forgive me if I'm not very fond of this one:
We all know how it went. Young Gambit married childhood-sweetheart Belladonna to unite their feuding families. His family steals things, her family kills things. Comprendez? But some of Belle’s family are less than happy and her brother tries to kill Gambit in a duel to the death, who promptly kills him in self defence and ends up exiled from New Orleans. And so he goes on to be an X-man…
This is what happened on another world. This is… What If?
Last Thoughts Of A Dying Canadian Speedster
If the title doesn't give this away, this a) death!fic and b) a massive spoiler for X-men: The End.
My favourite things I've ever written:
currently on ff.net, will get a LJ version soonish
Why does a woman come to her brother's grave one Valentine's morning? Only to find the one person who knows how her brother died, that strange once-glimpsed boy with the silver hair and the frightened eyes.
The latest instalment of Sun, Sea, Surf and Sarcasm is Part Twelve: Interview Technique 101
following on from Part Eleven: Media Darlings
The rest of it is on ff.net, and some other websites, Sun, Sea, Surf and Sarcasm is exactly what you get if you cross slash, rom-com, and some aspersions on Nightcrawler's sexuality and rather a few in-jokes. It is Iceman/Northstar and has some remarkably popular kissing scenes.
Okay, I'd call the whole thing remarkably popular, and, yes, I know I need to update it. It could probably do with a slight overhaul too, which is why it's not get LJ-ified quite yet.
The sequel oddly enough is complete:
Cute, funny and featuring a very drunken celestial being and much boykissage! Northstar/Iceman of course
Why We Do The Things That We Do
Just before the Fall Of The Mutants, Doug Ramsey, the New Mutant's Cypher, writes a letter to Kitty Pryde explaining about choices and duty and why the New Mutants do what they do.
This contains quasi-spoilers for the New Mutants strand of the Fall Of The Mutants crossover, but if you don't know what the big event was, have you been living under a rock? ;-)
Call My Name
A little tale of Wolfsbane, set in the early days of the New Mutants. It's all about belonging, yet feeling alone.
He could never join Scotland Yard like his da, so Pete Wisdom joined Black Air, and found himself in the same professional nastiness
Yes, the summary sucks, but it has your favourite chainsmoking bastard in it.
Five Ways TJ Has Met Her Father And One Way She Hasn't (Yet)
TJ, the amazing Nocturne, otherworldly daughter of Nightcrawler, keeps meeting her father as she tumbles from one reality to the next. Huge amounts of fun for spotters of Quantum Kurts.
Leibe Wanda! Was Hast du noch getan?
Following the Wanda's cataclysmic descent into insanity, and her subsequent disappearance with her father Magneto, Kurt Wagner writes her a letter he will never send. Perhaps, the greatest love is knowing when to let go. Kurt/Wanda
Jean just gets these carvings. Sillyfic(ish).
A Fire In My Blood
A youngster tries to make sure that school's out for ever. It's Pyro, so I think you can guess how, think of it as Pyro: The Prequel. I almost called it Pyromania.
Where did Stacey X go to? She fell. She returned to the underworld, returned to hades, only for her Orpheus to lead her out once again. Stacey/Kurt
This was intended as the prequel/ teaser for a series. It looks like it won't get written though.
Sorry about that:
Also on ff.net is Happy Homecomings
The sequel to Pefect Day and intended as a great epic, which less humour and more angst than its predecessors, but currently two chapters of atmospheric "morning after" fic.
Disclaimer: The X-men, the New Mutants, Excalibur and all those other people with “x-tra powers” are Marvel’s, not mine.
